There's an update available for the E17 CVS updater, bumping its version up to 0.9. Recent changes in E17s development introduced a new library called efreet that it on the way to replace eet, so the Changelog for this release is rather short:

  Changes in 0.9 (4th, April, 2007), ag:
      + Added efreet in libs

Additionally, I installed e17 on a brand new installed Debian 4.0 system
and finally found the time to write up all necessary prerequesites for compiling e17 and here they are:

  automake autoconf libtool cvs zlib1g-dev libjpeg62-dev pkg-config libfreetype6-dev \
  x-dev libx11-dev x11proto-xext-dev libxine-dev flex-old bison gettext libpng12-dev \
  libxml2-dev libxslt1-dev libtag1-dev libsqlite3-dev libltdl3-dev libtagc0-dev libbz2-dev

Simply copy and paste this codeblock, prepend an `apt-get install` and
  you should be done.

After fiddling around more than usual the last few days with my Enlightenment DR17 installation, I ran into troubles with the latest E17 CVS Updater since some modules got moved to a different directoy in CVS and some others haven't been included by now to the updater, etc.

You know, I never coded python before, so please don't laugh at me if things
aren't that beautiful in the sourcecode. Additionally, I didn't know what to do with the QT designer source code files around there at first and started to implement my changes by hand to the .py file which definetly broke the QT designer sources and therefore I removed them for this release :)

My efforts can be downloaded here, of course, and here's the Changelog for all of you that are interested in giving it a try. I would be happy if some of you provide some feedback via the comments system here, so that I know if I did something badly wrong or if there are other modules that should be added to this updater.

I'm using Enlightenment now since about 4 or 5 years (don't remember exactly) and was always very fond of it. I started with DR16 and it basically
simply did what it should: Being a lightweight, hot and shiny window manager without too much overhead.

As time went by, I once found an entry on the enlightenment website about the successor of DR16, nameley DR17.
After struggling around with how to get the most current CVS snapshot on my system, I was excited after it was finally set up. Enlightenment is one of those projects,
I would pay for without any further thought but as with most open source software, one first doesn't think about donating (free as in "free beer").
  So, shame on me.

Finally, when I read about the need for donations on the e-devel mailing list, I was reminded and of course donated for this great piece of software.
The exact reasons about why your donation is really needed can be found in the link below. I just want to ask you to help supporting this great project if you
are using it yourself (even smallest donations are greatly appreciated!).
